Dear Friends in Christ,
This past Saturday, we wrapped up a wonderful summer camp season at Peterkin. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our staff, counselors, and volunteer leaders, it was a season filled with joy, growth, and community for all who entered Peterkin’s gates.
As we look forward to the next season on the calendar, we also prepare for a new chapter in the life of Peterkin. On July 31, Jim Cormack will conclude his ministry as Executive Director—a role he has held with extraordinary care, vision, and dedication.
Two years ago, Jim came out of a very brief retirement to lead Peterkin at a critical moment. Following a prolonged closure during the pandemic, Peterkin faced daunting challenges: deferred maintenance, a diminished camper base, and the need to reimagine its path forward.
From the beginning, Jim agreed to serve for a limited time, but his tenure has proven to be one of the most important and significant chapters in Peterkin’s history. Under his leadership:
Jim’s commitment, faithfulness, and love for Peterkin have helped stabilize and renew this beloved place. His contributions have laid a strong foundation for the future, and his impact will be felt for many years to come.
In the days ahead, we will share more about what’s next for Peterkin. For now, we offer our deepest thanks for Jim’s faithful ministry among us and for the many ways he has helped us Build Holy Community in God’s Wilderness.
Faithfully,
