2010 camps

Camp Peterkin has set its schedule for 2010 Summer Camps, and is looking for counselors and CIT’s (counselor-in-training) with a wide range of talents, interests, and backgrounds. Nestled in a valley near historic Romney, West Virginia, Peterkin Camp and Conference Center has hosted summer camps for over 60 years, and is hiring full-time Summer Counselors for its 2010 camp season. Peterkin boasts 1,400 acres of unsurpassed natural beauty, and our camps take full advantage of these surroundings, encouraging campers to reflect on their faith in a tranquil, inspiring setting.

Summer Counselors will spend 7 weeks working with campers of all ages, from one-year-olds to adults, participating in and leading a variety of activities, including the arts, athletics, outdoor and environmental activities, worship, and just plain fun. In order to serve as a counselor, you must have graduated from high school in 2009, and be working or attending college. Applications should be submitted to the diocesan office, and postmarked no later than February 28, 2010. Please be sure to include the covenant and a letter of recommendation from the priest or pastor at your church.

CIT’s are youth volunteers that work alongside the adult staff at Peterkin. In order to volunteer as a CIT, you must be at least 16 years of age by the time the camp you are volunteering at begins. Applications should be submitted to the diocesan office, and postmarked no later than March 31, 2010. Please be sure to include the covenant and a letter of recommendation from the priest or pastor at your church.
